Passenger Vehicles
Registration fees for passenger vehicles are determined by your vehicle’s taxable horsepower. Your vehicle’s taxable horsepower is recorded on your title, or on your Application for Missouri Title and Registration.

Trucks (“Commercial Vehicles”)
Registration fees for trucks, including all pickup trucks and all utility-type vehicles that are registered as trucks, are determined by your truck’s weight, and whether you will be using the truck locally (within 50 miles from home) or over a wider area. Your truck’s weight includes the weight of any other trailers or property that you might haul during the registration period.

Boats/Vessels/Outboard Motors
Registration and Processing Fees
- Outboard Motors - $2 registration plus $3.50 processing fee.
- Boat/vessel - determined by the length of the boat/vessel.

Title and Processing Fees
- Outboard Motors - $5 titling plus $2.50 processing fee
- Homemade boat/vessel that is at least 16 feet but less than 28 feet in length, made out of wood, and has a beam of five feet or less - $55 registration plus $3.50 processing fee
- Vessel - $7.50 titling and $2.50 processing fee, plus a $3.50 processing fee for a Missouri registration number ("MO" number) if one has not been previously issued.
