Kansas City Branch Office To Remain Open Until June 30
JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Revenue announced today that the Kansas City branch office will remain open until June 30. As a result of voter approval of Amendment 3 last fall, the department is coping with a loss of highway funds by transforming Missouri’s state-run branch offices into contract agent-run offices, including the office in downtown Kansas City.
“Customer service is my first priority,” said Director Trish Vincent. “It appeared that our customers would be inconvenienced with a number of lost days of service, so the decision to postpone the office closing was easy. It’s important that customers in the Kansas City area have nearly continuous service, and we are working hard to reach that goal.”
“My goal is to provide Kansas City customers the same nearly uninterrupted service we’ve provided to the other four offices that have transitioned,” said Vincent. “This process has given us an opportunity to change for the better, offer extended hours of service, and at the same time, save taxpayer dollars.”
