Revenue Department Announces Third License Office Set for Competitive Bid

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Revenue announced today that a third motor vehicle and driver license contract office – in Potosi – will be the subject of a Request for Proposals (RFP) to engage the public in an open, competitive bid process for operation of the license office. The first public process resulted in the department accepting the bid proposal of Danah Lewis, West County office manager of 9 years, to operate the West County office.  A second competitive process, this time in Harrisonville, ended with Parkville agent Tracy Zahnd, with Red Moon Enterprises, winning the contract.

The RFP will open Tuesday, May 29, and close on Thursday, June 21.

The department currently contracts with 183 independent contractors throughout the state to provide motor vehicle titling/registration and license services. As part of continuous efforts to improve service, the department is working to determine if awarding contracts through full and open competition will raise the level of customer service offered to Missourians.  The Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Potosi office will be available on Tuesday, May 29, on the state’s On-Line Bidding/Vendor Registration System at https://www.moolb.mo.gov. The current office location is 219 East High Street in Potosi.

Like the RFP for the West County and the Harrisonville offices, the Potosi RFP details requirements for confidentiality, personnel training, office facility and equipment needs, sales and service, security, and record keeping. "It is vital we set a high standard for customer service," said Vincent. "We are always looking at our offices for ways to improve customer service and the bid process will help us continue to achieve this goal."

A copy of the RFP may be obtained at https://www.moolb.mo.gov. To review the RFP, select "Guest" on the home page.
