Springfield Tax Assistance Center Open; Joplin Office Still Closed

        JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Revenue announced the Springfield Tax Assistance Center is open at 149 Park Central Square, Room 313. Customers may call the Springfield office at (417) 895-6474.

        The Joplin Tax Assistance Center is still closed due to potentially unsafe roof conditions at the building at 1110 East 7th Street, Suite 400. An inspection of the roof in Joplin occurred Wednesday, January 17, and more information regarding the building’s inhabitability will be known within the next few days.

        In addition to the services available in Springfield, offices in Jefferson City are available to assist customers and taxpayers. Tax inquiries may be directed to (573) 751-3505 or (573) 751-7200.

        To check on the status of an income tax return, customers may call (866) 433-7259 toll-free or click “Where’s My Return?” on the department’s website at www.dor.mo.gov. A toll number, (573) 526-TAXX (8299), is also available to find the status of a return or refund.
