The Criminal Tax Investigation Bureau conducts complex criminal investigations in the area of sales, withholding, and income taxes. It also investigates property tax credit fraud and political candidate affidavit complaints. The Bureau serves as the Department's liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in its areas of responsibility.
The bureau includes operations at five in-state offices, located in Jefferson City, Cape Girardeau, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield.
