January 25, 2012Kingston License Office to Close at End of Month; Management Contract Will Be Re-Bid
JEFFERSON CITY - The Kingston License Office will close after regular business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 31.
The office (located at 49 E. Main St. in Kingston) will be closed until a new agent is named. The current contract is up for renewal and the current agent, Lisa Prater, has advised that health reasons prevent her from continuing to run the office. The Missouri Office of Administration will soon issue a Request for Proposal to ask for new bidders to operate the office.
Operating hours for the Kingston License Office are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but closed for lunch each day from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Prater has been the agent of the Kingston License Office since 2005. There were 12,207 transactions and about $41,446 in agent fees processed at the office during Fiscal Year 2011.
There are several other area license offices where City of Kingston and Caldwell County citizens can go to conduct transactions. The offices, their addresses, phone numbers and operating hours are:
Cameron - 217 N. Chestnut St., (816) 632-4830, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
Chillicothe - 730 S. Washington St., (660) 646-5418, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Last four business days of the month, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Gallatin - 400 N. Main St., Suite 1 (660) 663-5400, Monday through Friday (except Wednesday), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Last Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. to noon; Closed every Wednesday, and closed for lunch other weekdays, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Plattsburg - 102 E. Maple St., (816) 539-2006, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to noon.
