Notices to Show Proof of Insurance
A person may be selected at random to show proof of insurance if his or her vehicle has not been identified as insured for a period of 90 days. An Insurance Verification Notice is issued to the vehicle owner advising the insurance company is no longer reporting an active policy for the owner’s vehicle. The notice will identify the vehicle year, make, and vehicle identification number of the vehicle that is no longer showing insured. The vehicle owner must complete the Insurance Verification Form and return it to the Department of Revenue within the period of time allowed by the Department of Revenue. The vehicle owner’s driving privilege will be suspended if proof of insurance or another form of compliance is not received.
