Mount Vernon License Office contract awardedJEFFERSON CITY - The Office of Administration, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Revenue, has awarded the management contract for the Mount Vernon License Office to the Mt. Vernon Area Community Foundation. All license office contracts in Missouri are awarded through a competitive bid process.
The Mount Vernon License Office will remain at its current location at 1 Courthouse Square FL #2.
In fiscal year 2013, nearly 23,000 transactions were conducted at the Mount Vernon office, generating $76,616 in agent processing fees. The Mt. Vernon Area Community Foundation contract includes an annual commitment to return 1 percent (approximately $766.16) of future processing fees to the state.
All local license offices are overseen by the Missouri Department of Revenue, but each is operated by an independent agent.
