Online New Business Registration

The Missouri Department of Revenue and the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Division of Employment Security, want to make starting your business as easy as possible. Online registration is part of our combined effort to simplify your registration process, so that you can get back to growing your business.

How Online Registration Works

You can register your new business online for the following tax types:

✔ Sales Tax
✔ Vendor’s Use Tax
✔ Consumer’s Use Tax
✔ Withholding Tax
✔ Unemployment Tax
✔ Tire and Lead Acid Battery Fee
✔ Corporate Income Tax

You may be required to obtain a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN). The FEIN is issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The FEIN is used to identify taxpayers who are required to file various business tax returns. Employers, corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, trusts and estates, and other business entities may be required to have a FEIN. For more information regarding FEINs or to obtain a number online, visit the IRS website.

After you have completed your online registration, you will receive a confirmation number and additional information about your registration. Please maintain the confirmation number for your records. Allow 2-3 business days for processing. If you have any questions, please contact us.
