Mid-America Transplant Services Awarded Northside License Office Contract

JEFFERSON CITY - The Office of Administration, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Revenue, has awarded the management contract for the Northside License Office to Mid-America Transplant Services of St. Louis.  All license office contracts in Missouri are awarded through a competitive bid process.  The winning bid for this license office was one of four submitted.

Mid-America Transplant Services, founded in 1974, is a not-for-profit organization that procures organs and tissues for transplant surgeries in an 84-county area in Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas.

The office will have a new location when it opens under new management.  The new location will be at 625 N. Euclid Ave., Suite 130, in St. Louis, which is at the intersection of North Euclid Avenue and Delmar Boulevard.

In Fiscal Year 2012, there were 47,393 transactions conducted at the office, generating $174,922 in agent processing fees.  Mid-America Transplant Services' contract includes an annual commitment to return 10 percent (about $17,500) of future processing fees to the state.

All local license offices are overseen by the Missouri Department of Revenue, but each is operated by an independent agent.
