State Contract with Potosi License Office Agent Canceled; Office Temporarily Closed and Management Contract Will Be Re-BidJEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Revenue and the Office of Administration have canceled the state contract with Kathleen Marler, the agent of the Potosi License Office. The office (located at 219 E. High St.) will be closed until a new agent is named. Customers in the Potosi and Washington County area have nearby offices in which they can conduct driver license, titling and other motor vehicle transactions.
"The Department exercised its option of canceling the contract with the agent after she did not abide by the provisions of the contract that she signed with the state," said Alana M. Barragán-Scott, director of the Missouri Department of Revenue. "I know this action may inconvenience some customers. But it's vital that agents comply with the conditions of their contracts, and that customers have confidence that their local offices are being run in an efficient manner."
Marler had been the agent of the Potosi License Office since 2007. According to estimated figures from Fiscal Year 2010, there were 34,020 transactions and $114,734 in agent fees processed at the office.
