Marble Hill License Office Agent's Contract with State is Canceled; Office Temporarily Closed and Management Contract Will Be Re-Bid

JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Revenue and the Office of Administration today canceled the state contract with Richard Vangennip, the agent of the Marble Hill License Office.  The office (located at 606 Highway 34 West) will be closed until a new agent is named.  Customers in the Marble Hill and Bollinger County area have nearby offices in which they can conduct driver license, titling and other motor vehicle transactions.

"The contract with Mr. Vangennip was terminated after the office did not abide by the provisions of the contract he signed with the state," said Alana M. Barragán-Scott, director of the Missouri Department of Revenue. "Although this action may inconvenience some customers, it's vital that the Department hold agents accountable so that customers can be confident that their local offices are being run in an efficient manner."

Vangennip had been the agent of the Marble Hill License Office since 2005.  There were an estimated 19,869 transactions and about $66,962 in agent fees processed at the office during Fiscal Year 2010.
