New license office to open in Columbia

JEFFERSON CITY

The Missouri Department of Revenue today announced a new license office will open in Columbia on Aug. 22. In addition to the current license office at 403 Vandiver Dr., Suite B, the new license office will be located at 1101 Grindstone Parkway Suite 103. Office hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; and from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

The management contract for the new office was awarded to Elle Management, LLC in February through a competitive bidding process. Some of the features of the new office will include an automated system allowing customers to join a line or schedule appointments from their computer or mobile device; motor vehicle transaction drop-off service; and free Wi-Fi.

“We are pleased the residents of Columbia, the fourth largest city in Missouri, will have a second option for taking care of their driver licensing and motor vehicle needs,” said Revenue Acting Director John Mollenkamp.

All local license offices are overseen by the Missouri Department of Revenue, but each is operated by an independent contractor.
