Missouri Department of Revenue to host Kansas City forum on tax assistance optionsKANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Revenue will host a free forum to provide Missourians with disabilities, the elderly and low-income citizens with information on free tax assistance that may be available to them. The forum, which will be attended by a representative with American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m. and from noon to 12:45 a.m., Monday, Jan. 12 in the Kansas City Public Library Westport Branch at 118 Westport Rd. The forum is designed to provide information only.
"With the 2015 tax season about to begin, this forum will be an opportunity for Missourians who meet the qualifications of being disabled, elderly or low-income to obtain information about the resources readily available to them," said Department of Revenue Director Nia Ray. "We hope citizens in the Kansas City area who meet these qualifications will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to become fully informed about their tax options."
